We then headed into DC and settled into this swank groovy hotel (or is it groovy swank?), the Hotel Helix. We headed out to drive towards the Pentagon and see the old apartment building where Shelley used to live, back in the day. Then we saw a movie at Arlington Cinema ‘n’ Drafthouse. We had something similar when I went to school in Knoxville; a movie theater where you can order drinks and food while watching a movie. It’s kind of like watching a DVD with 300 friends. And the flick was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which turned out to be just fabulous. If I had known it was written by Charlie Kaufman, I would have seen it much sooner.
Once back at the hotel we removed the fur-and-satin comforter from the bed and slept tight behind the iridescent lime-green curtains. Tomorrow we would conquer the city by bicycle.
