Last night a friend lured me into volunteering as an usher/crew for the Rose City Rollers, the local roller derby franchise. I had every reason not to enjoy it. I was tired from overdoing it the night before, the show crew wasn’t particularly organized and there was a substantial amount of standing around doing a whole lotta nothing before the audience started filling in.
But despite all of that, I had a blast. There’s a lot to be said for a sport that involves girls racing around in fishnets and shiny panties, bent over to great effect. Yeehaw! Suddenly, I’m a fan!
