I just picked up my car from Sunnyvale Volkswagen where I was getting some service done. On the way home, I stopped at a gas station to fill the tank. As I walked around the car, I noticed a strip of black electrician’s tape on the rear windshield. When I removed the tape, I realized it was carefully placed to obscure the rainbow pride sticker on the inside of the rear windshield.
Unbelievable. For a minute, I thought I was back in Tennessee. Sigh.
Wow, that’s quality service. At least they didn’t steal your Monsoon stereo and replace it with the standard one, as happened to a friend last week. Apparently mind-bogglingly bad customer service is their ultimate goal. I almost wish some of this stuff would happen to me so I could go off on some people. I haven’t unleashed any carefully crafted invective at anyone in like a month. 🙁
WTF!? Geez – some people are idiots…
Ugh! Maybe you could complain to the national chain, or to the supervisor at this chain…
well, for marketing revenge:
1- never go back there
2- tell this story to lots of people (are you on any VW listservs or boards?)
ugh.
I strongly suggest speaking to the service manager, John Goodrich. He’s a good guy and has worked very hard to improve the quality of service at Sunnyvale VW. I know he’d be interested to hear about this.
