All good things must come to an end

Well, one of my two grand experiments for 2006 has come to an end. After 5+ months of growing my hair out, I finally “snapped” today and decided to buzz it all down. After some thought and consideration, the pros/cons weighed strongly in one direction.

Pros (to the longer hair)
I was told it made me look younger.

Cons
More time spent on my hair every day. Conditioner! Combs! Hat head!
The longer my hair got, the more thin it seemed in the front.
It’s camping season, and three days without a shower is much easier to tolerate with no hair.
Besides, 666. How could I not shave my head today? 😉

The other interesting observation was how iconic my buzzed head has become. During my periodic visits back to the home office, I hear a number of people say things like, “Wow, I walked past you three times before I recognized you.” Apparently the “skin head with the copper goatee” look is the cartoon thumbnail people have filed in their brain for me.

And of course, there must be pictures.

Five plus months of growth. About 1.5 inches long.

Half a head of hair.
Half a head of hair.

Bzzzzzz
Bzzzzzz

    woohoo!

i don’t think that younger thing is true, anyway, the buzz is very youthful. And this is coming from a hair-preferrer. 🙂
