We actually stopped at Marine Drive and biked in from there, past I-5. We headed south on North Portland Rd so we could stay on bike paths, and ended up biking through the Smith-Bybee Lake wilderness area. A parking lot there had a bunch of public art pieces, including some carved boulders and tree stumps.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/brauhze\/BreakingInTheBike\/photo#5198946509754890498\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/brauhze\/SCZeTjAyeQI\/AAAAAAAABAk\/YEGkE6V6sMc\/s400\/beaver%20skull.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/brauhze\/BreakingInTheBike\/photo#5198946518344825106\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/brauhze\/SCZeUDAyeRI\/AAAAAAAABAs\/QSZ5x-ezzdg\/s400\/winged%20tree.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kelley Point is part of the &#8220;40 Mile Loop&#8221; set of trails around Portland (the Springwater Corridor is another part of the loop). I was surprised to see a couple of signs that seemed to indicate the end of the loop. Umm, isn&#8217;t the whole point of a loop that it has no beginning or end?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/brauhze\/BreakingInTheBike\/photo#5198946522639792418\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/brauhze\/SCZeUTAyeSI\/AAAAAAAABA0\/BF12HEChiVw\/s400\/loop%20end.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The entire ride ended up being a little over 19 miles. Which still feels like a lot to my atrophied biking muscles.
