{"id":172,"date":"2007-07-30T07:44:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-30T13:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.laughingmonkey.org\/?p=172"},"modified":"2007-07-30T07:44:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-30T13:44:00","slug":"fools-rush-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/laughingmonkey.org\/?p=172","title":{"rendered":"Fools Rush In&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sunday night I hiked Angels Rest with my friend Susan.<\/p>\n<p>We started up the trail around 5:00 pm, going slow and taking several breaks for Susan&#8217;s hobby of <a HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Letterboxing\" target=wikiPedia>letterboxing<\/a>. I helped her plant a couple of new boxes, and was lucky to find a box as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/brauhze\/AngelsRest\/photo#5093000826282355410\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.google.com\/brauhze\/Rq35RINUqtI\/AAAAAAAAALk\/1qYAS5bGWlo\/s400\/angels%20rest%201.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We sat at the top for a couple of hours, swapping stories and waiting for the full moon to appear and enjoying a wonderful sunset against the Washington hills.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/brauhze\/AngelsRest\/photo#5093000826282355426\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.google.com\/brauhze\/Rq35RINUquI\/AAAAAAAAALs\/MS80ybWLJwU\/s400\/angels%20rest%202.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After we got sufficiently chilled and the moon showed no sign of emerging from behind the clouds, we started back down the trail, red flashlights in hand.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/picasaweb.google.com\/brauhze\/AngelsRest\/photo#5093000826282355442\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh6.google.com\/brauhze\/Rq35RINUqvI\/AAAAAAAAAL0\/KXHMxaMSVRY\/s800\/angels%20rest%203.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I did a moonlight hike of AR last summer with a big group of folks, and I remember sucking wind all the way up the trail.
